Vulvovaginal Disorders

Most women with vulval pain disorders often yield devastating changes to sexual function.

The aging process as well as various diseases process are powerful contributors to female sexual dysfunction. Various vulval dermatosis including Lichen sclerosus, Lichen Planus, recurrent vulvovaginal  candidiasis and atopic dermatitis are some of the common conditions responsible for significant vulvovaginal pain syndrome.

These recognizable disorders can be identified by  careful history that includes review of symptoms , attention to possible systemic or autoimmune diseases or history of atopy, sexual history, psychological profile, lifestyle issues, targeted non-genital and genital exams , including assessment of vulvar architecture and skin, pain and symptom mapping, evaluation of tolerance for the exam , the vagina and the pelvic floor.

Dr. Sumi Saha formulates an evidence based individualized management approach to optimise treatment outcome.
